Hi

NICE TO

MEET YOU

I'm Merit, a Finance and Ops nerd with a creative side. I spend my time building systems that work and data that stays organized.  If you’re looking for someone who gets the technical stuff but doesn't make it boring, you’re in the right place.

The story

I’m a fresh accounting graduate, and if there’s one thing school taught me, it’s that textbooks are where good ideas go to die. I spent four years in the trap. I wasn't some genius student; I was right there with everyone else, staring at textbooks that felt like they were written to be intentionally confusing.

I spent most of my degree wondering why the "technical side" of business had to feel like a secret language designed to give people migraines. It felt like we were all just cramming formulas to pass exams, without anyone actually showing us how any of it worked in the real world.

But looking back, I realize it wasn’t just a "student" problem but a global one. Today, roughly 1 in 3 accounting students struggle or drop out, not because the concepts are impossible, but because the teaching is too dry and disconnected from reality.

Who I am

I’m Merit. I just wrapped up my Accounting degree and because I clearly love a challenge, I’m already back at it, studying Business Administration at University of the People.

But if we’re being for real, I’m more than just my degrees. I’m a big fan of great designs, storytelling, clean aesthetics, good music, and the kind of clarity that makes you go "ahhh." What I actually obsess over is that annoying gap between "knowing" a concept and actually being able to use it without a headache. That’s the space I live in.

I’ve never been the type to make things complicated just to sound like the smartest person in the room. Life is already stressful enough; why should your financial reports or business modules add to it? Clarity shouldn’t be some rare luxury or a "premium add-on", it should be the baseline.

I believe that when something is done right, you shouldn't have to squint at it or read it five times to understand. You should just be able to feel the relief.  And that is what I am here for.

82%

82% of small business owners fail because they don’t truly understand their own cash flow logic.

The pivot

Now that I’m out of the trenches, I see the same thing happening everywhere.

I saw this same lack of clarity follow people out of the classroom and into their businesses. Did you know that 82% of small business owners fail simply because they don’t truly understand their own cash flow logic? It’s rarely a lack of talent; it’s a lack of clear, visual reporting.

I’ve realized that most people don’t actually hate accounting, they just hate how boring and confusing it usually looks. And that is why I am here: I work with students and founders who are doing the work, but deep down, they feel... overwhelmed. You’re reading the books, you’re passing the exams (or trying to!), but there’s a gap. You know the words, but you don’t feel the system.

Whether I’m styling a pitch deck, preparing a report or helping a student finally get a concept they’ve been stuck on for weeks, I’m just here to bring some much-needed clarity with so much ease.

How I can help

I’m all about keeping things simple. If you’re ready to get your work organized, here is how I usually jump in:

If your financial data are currently all over the place, I can get in there, sort the data, and make sure everything actually looks professional.

If you have the data but the presentation or report is looking dull, I'll style it for you so people actually enjoy reading it.

If you’re a student and a particular accounting or business course is stressing you out, I can break it down for you until it clicks.

If you’re a founder and you just need someone to stay on top of the calendars, the systems, and the technical bits, I can step in and handle that for you.

If any of this sounds like what you need, just send me a message and we'll take it from there.

My digital toolbox

These are my playground. I am a firm believer that the right tool makes work feel much more fun (and look like a masterpiece). Here’s what I’m currently obsessing over:

Canva

Where my "Accounting" brain meets my love for design. If it needs to be professional but also look expensive, I’m probably in here tweaking a font.

Google Workspace

My go-to for staying organized. It’s where I handle the docs, the sheets, meetings and the calendars that keep everything moving.

Notion

This is basically my second brain. It’s how I stay three steps ahead and keep all my projects, notes, and big ideas

MySQL

For when the data is too big for a spreadsheet. This is how I talk to databases and pull answer out of massive piles of information

Zoho Books

I use this to handle the invoicing and the repetitive admin parts of the business.

Tableau

Another tool for the "visual" side of things. I use these to turn rows of numbers into visuals that you can understand at a glance.

BigQuery

This is my go-to for handling massive amounts of information without breaking a sweat.

Power BI

Another amazing tool I use in building reports so they aren't just a wall of text.

My experience so far

I’ve spent the last year getting my hands dirty in the real world. Here’s a bit of what I’ve been up to:

29/07/2025

Creative & Operations Intern

KoConcepts (Remote)

I worked right at the intersection of "making things look good" and "making things work." One minute I was designing client templates and case studies, and the next I was managing social media calendars and helping with light admin work.

11/07/2025

Executive Assistant/Operations Manager

Girls Who Speak (Volunteer)

At Girls Who Speak, I stepped in as an Executive Assistant to handle the backend activities. I managed the schedules, coordinated the internal workflow, and made sure nothing fell through the cracks so the founder could focus on leading.

07/07/2025

Creative Intern

Birth & Beyond (Volunteer)

As a volunteer for Birth and Beyond, I helped design their flagship eBook, came up with contents and designed educational contents and carousels.

15/06/2025

Finance Intern

ErpSoftApp (On-site)

This is where I got my hands dirty with the technical side of business. I spent my time inside ERP systems (Odoo), learning how to organize financial records in real time.

My wall of fame

I’m a big believer that learning shouldn’t just be about collecting PDFs to post on LinkedIn. I don’t just "know" these things, I’ve put in the work to master them. Swipe through to see the credentials that back up the results.

Let's get to work

If you have numbers that need fixing or reports that need to look professional, just send a message. You don't need a formal plan or a perfect explanation, just tell me what’s on your desk and where you’re stuck, and we’ll take it from there.
